TAHAANGA - Please describe your fashion and lifestyle, what kind of a man are you:

Matt - I’m an LA-based VP of a skin care company who spends a lot of time traveling for work and fun.  My fashion style – casual, modern and well-fitting – and lifestyle – poolside, hillside, west side – are very Californian. 

T-What do you look for in a dress shirt?

M- People talk about the struggle to find the perfect pair of jeans.  For me, finding the perfect dress shirt – one that feels soft, looks sharp and fits right – is a bigger challenge. 

T - If you Google-shop for a dress shirt what words would you use?  

M - Slim fit, breathable

T - What do you love best about your TAHAANGA shirt?

M - I’ve been in it for 9 hours now and I still look freshly pressed.

How it all started...

With years of experience as a Trend Expert, TAHAANGA Founder/Creative Director/CEO Manuela Fassbender realized there was an untapped niche market for athletic, technology-infused, and stylish luxury dress wear. Then the Shaun White photo graced The New York Times and it all began to click. 

 

Sustainability

TAHAANGA's cotton blends incorporate a poly-fiber that is manufactured 100% from consumer waste. 

After treatment, filtered water runs back into a nearby river and remaining bacterial sediments are recycled as fertilizer. 

The process is 100% traceable and saves 94% water, 32% Co2, and 60% energy. 

 

The Fabric

We searched around the world to find the right shirt fabric with the most advanced performance properties until we came across the mill that is now custom handcrafting our fabrics. TAHAANGA's shirts are manufactured from a luxurious, two-ply European cotton blend featuring performance properties, while retaining a uniquely soft handle. 

Once designed here in NY in the heart of the Garment District, production happens in Northern Italy to ensure we get the highest end quality possible. We have been lucky enough to have met our Italian agent, Lorella, who is an expert in production in Italy and works with only the best manufacturer. It is extremely important to us to build relationships with the people we are collaborating with, especially because the dedication, craftsmanship, and preciseness of our mill and manufacturer is truly unbeatable.

Cue back to New York where we focus on fittings with Garry who helps assure that the fit and each detail is perfected before going into production.

Chris Burgees: The M.V.P. of IBM 

                                       

TAHAANGA- Tell us a little about what you do for a living.

Chris- I am a Resolution Team Lead for IBM; I work with various groups (Support, Engineering, Services) to ensure that unhappy customers (or potentially unhappy customers) get the answers they're looking for.  Easy job, right?

T- What were your first impressions of the TAHAANGA shirt when you received it?

C- I received my James JX 1.0 TAHAANGA shirt yesterday and were thrilled! The packaging is nothing short of elegant.  I could tell your team left no stone unturned.  And the metal collar stays - they put my plastic ones to shame!  What a great touch.

T- We’re glad you like it! What can you say about the fit?

C- The fit is literally perfect.  It's a trim fit, but not tight.  Room through the chest for my arms to move, neck is just large enough to wear a necktie without cutting off airflow, sleeves long enough to still look "long" even when the cuffs are rolled up (I love the plaid inside the cuffs!) 

C- I've only just tried it on, I haven't taken it for a formal test spin yet.  However, I'm very much looking forward to...and I don't think I've ever said that about a dress shirt before!

T- When searching for a dress shirt online, what key words would you type into the search engine?

C- I would probably search for "dress shirt breathable wrinkle resistant" It's a pretty small list of requirements, but I don't wear dress shirts very often, so I want the few that I do own to be high quality, comfortable and easy to care for.
